Day Centres

Guildford Borough Council have four Day Centres for older people within the Borough, one of which is managed by a voluntary organisation and is grant aided by the Council.

North Place Day Centre
North Place Day Centre, Guildford is directly managed by the Borough and was opened in 1980.

White Hart Court Day Centre
White Hart Court Day Centre, Ripley opened in 1991. The Centre forms part of a Resource Centre for older people working alongside the existing 38 Sheltered Housing Units.

Shawfield Day Centre - Ash
Built through a joint funding scheme with the District Authority, this Day Centre was opened in 1983. It provides a meeting place and social venue for older people living in Ash and the surrounding villages.

Park Barn Centre - Park Barn Drive Guildford
Social centre is aimed principally for people over the age of 55.

All of the above centres include a commercial hair dressing salon, a health care suite, and specially designed bathing facilities for the disabled. Specially adapted mini buses are designed to accommodate the needs of visitors who have mobility problems. Meals on Wheels are prepared at all centres with the exception of Park Barn for delivery by the WRVS for users living in the surrounding areas.

Function Rooms for Hire

The next time you are arranging an event - children's party or christening reception, club or society meeting, why not consider renting one of our function rooms now available for public hire. All

There are several function rooms available within the Borough, capacity ranges from 40 to 70 people (standing). Hire charges range from £10 per hour to £100 for a full day.

NOTE: Because function rooms are in areas of accommodation for elderly people, events and hire periods are scheduled to avoid disturbance to residents. However, most requirements can be catered for.
