What are Business Rates?
Business Rates (National Non-Domestic Rates) are a tax on business properties. The tax is set by the government and collected locally by the Council. The Council makes payments into a National Non-Domestic Rating Pool and in return receives a grant from the government per head of population.

Rates Service aims to:
"Collect the Business Rates that helps the
Borough of Guildford, County of Surrey, Parishes and Police Authorities
to provide vital amenities and services. The effectiveness of the Collection
service will be measured by providing value for money through competitive
costs and high levels of collection "
