STREET NAMING AND NUMBERING

Engineering Services undertakes services in relation to street naming and numbering within the Borough, this includes:

• Compiling numbering schemes for new developments.
  
  
• Canvassing the views of developers, Parish Councils, local members and the Royal Mail to decide on suitable names for new housing developments.
  
  
• Liaison with homeowners who wish to change their house names.
  
  
• Arranging for maintenance and erection of streetname plates.
  
  
• Updating the Council�s Graphical Information System to show new developments.
  
  
• Naming of existing spur roads to improve letter deliveries.
  
  
• Using recycled plastic for street nameplates in accordance with Agenda 21.
