Guildford is Surrey's County Town and largest Borough. It is an historic Borough with a host of beautiful buildings and Green Belt villages. Our offices are on a riverbank next to Guildford Town Centre where there is good shopping, sports facilities and a popular theatre. Guildford is a hub for expanding business and learning and the mix of traditional and contemporary facilities provides an excellent quality of life. Help us to ensure design quality in our new developments and conserve our outstanding heritage.

We are seeking a multi-talented individual to play a leading role in the Projects Team. This qualified and self motivated person will assist in delivering a diverse programme of environmental projects in Guildford Borough, in accordance with the Council's strategic priorities. Urban design and planning advice will also be required of this demanding role.

You should have a formal qualification in Town Planning, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture or Architecture. Relevant experience in project management of environmental improvement schemes is essential. Many of our projects involve public participation requiring experience in co-ordinating community projects and consultation.

Experience in local government would be advantageous. Excellent communication and project leadership skills are essential, together with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
