The area surrounding Guildford has several delightful gardens, some of which can be visited all year round. They vary from the world famous Royal Horticultural Society Garden at Wisley, which covers 240 acres and has something for every season, to the small Gertrude Jekyll garden at Hatchlands Park, which was designed to be at its best only at the height of summer.
In the town the Castle Grounds are a favourite oasis in the centre of town providing a riot of spectacular colour in Spring and Summer. In complete contrast Painshill Park is a physical work of art, a celebrated restoration of England’s Georgian heritage.
