Dapdune

Formerly the barge building site for the Wey Navigations, the award-winning visitor centre at Dapdune Wharf gives a fascinating insight into this historic 20 mile waterway.  Within its tranquil setting families can explore the restored Wey barge Reliance, and discover the story of the waterway through interactive displays.  A family trail is also available and special events take place throughout the year.  Bring a picnic and relax by the river on Dapdune Island or combine your visit with a trip on the electric launch river boat which operates during opening hours (weather permitting)

Facilities for disabled visitors - adapted toilets. Access for wheelchairs to Visitor Centre and restored barge. Braille and large print guides available.

Open: 27th March to 31st October 2004, Thursday to Monday 11:00am - 5:00pm

Admission: Adults £3.00, Children £1.50, Family ticket £7.50

See Guildford Boat House for details of narrow boat and rowing boat hire.

Directions: Dapdune Wharf 1/2 mile from Guildford Town Centre, just off A322 (Woodbridge Road), behind Surrey Cricket Ground.
