The Park Ranger Service Home Page

So what do we do for you?

  • The Park Ranger Service currently provides a mobile patrol,   providing a year round  presence across all the Boroughs parks and countryside sites.
  • From 1200hrs to 2230hrs, Monday to Friday. 
  • Saturday/Sunday presence from 0800hrs to 2230hrs over the Summer months, 0800hrs to 1700hrs through the Winter months.   

 

 

The Park Ranger's role

  • Provide a mobile patrol service to cover all of the Parks and Countryside Services area of responsibility and assist in achieving a ‘safer Guildford’
  • Deter crime and work in partnership with the Police and the Community.
  • Deter infringement of the Byelaws and enforce the same.
  •  Support customer and community liaison by dealing with complaints and providing advice and assistance to the public on site.
  • Supervise outdoor sports/leisure facilities and the seasonal attendants, dealing with cash in transit.
  • Secure and open all area/buildings as required.
  • Ensure events are conducted in accordance with current Council and service area policy and guidelines.

 

 

   

What do we get up to? As you  can see from the pie chart most of our time is spent patrolling, working to keep our open spaces safe.
