Posy Simmonds scored a big success during the eighties with a popular cartoon series in The Guardian and since then has written and illustrated a string of bestselling children’s books.
Kit Wright is one of the most acclaimed and adored poets for children. Best known for his comic verse, he is equally adept at tackling more sombre themes and potentially difficult subjects.

Esther Rantzen is one of the best-known and most popular personalities in British television. She spent her early days working in radio and her career has ranged from her early fame on That’s Life to her current programme That’s Esther. Esther has been a campaigning presence for thirty years, creating Childline and highlighting the needs of the disabled among  her many other achievements. Her début novel, A Secret Life, is set in the glittering world of the media and is about the secrecies and scandals that her heroine, investigative journalist Lucy Strong, discovers in the power hungry world of televison.

Richard Herring is best known for his collaboration with Stewart Lee in shows like BBC2’s  Fist of Fun.  His book Talking Cock is his answer to the Vagina Monologues. It is funny, shocking, informative and disgusting in equal measures.
