Green and organic waste comprises a large proportion of the waste we produce, Guildford Borough Council are therefore promoting a range of initiatives for recycling this waste through kerbside schemes and home composting.

The Nippy Chipper

The Nippy Chipper operates every Wednesday and Thursday chipping and bagging garden waste on your doorstep.
	The chippings are returned to you to use in the garden as mulch or to turn into compost.
You can include branches and tree trunks up to 4 inches in diameter. Please note there is a small charge for this service. Please call 01483 445084 for a booking form.

Green cones A green cone enables you to recycle all your food waste in your own back garden. Just lift the lid and add all unwanted food. The waste disperses into the ground around the cone. Composters
The Compost Machine Composter will take all your garden waste and will produce a rich compost for you to use in your garden. Ideal ingredients are, leaves, flowers, garden clippings, vegetable peelings, tea bags and eggshells.   The Compost Machine is sbusidised by the council and costs £5 including VAT.  To order one call Straight Recycling on 0845 1306090 or check out the website on www.getcomposting.com.  The subsidised composter is only available to Guildford Borough residents.   You can also obtain wormeries by calling the Recycling Hotline on 01483 445084.
