We set the tariff for licensed hackney carriage vehicles in the borough. These vehicles are all fitted with taximeters. The amount that we set is the maximum price that the driver can charge. 

We also license private hire vehicles and set a recommended tariff.  However, you can negotiate the amount you will pay with the driver. Although these vehicles do not have to have taximeters fitted, they are available to these operators.
