Draft parking strategy for Guildford

Car parks
8am-6pm Monday to Saturday (including Bank Holidays).
Long stay off-street: 50p - 60p per hour
Short stay off-street: 60p per hour,
£2.00 per hour after the first 3 hours.

Sunday charging in most of the off street car parks is £1.00p per visit.

On-street
Apart from the bays reserved for permit holders only or blue badge holders and taxis, all other on-street parking places in the centre of town are available to motorists on a pay and display basis. These bays are intended for short term use only. Those nearest the centre of town are limited to 30 minutes, the remainder are limited to 2 hours. The tariff is 60p per 30 minutes.

On the eastern side of Town there are some bays limited to 3 hours and the tariff is 40p per 30 minutes.

Blue-badge holders
Blue Badge holders may park free of charge in any Pay and Display car park. Designated bays for Blue Badge holders are provided at various locations both on-street and within most of the Borough's car parks.

Shopmobility
Scheme now operating on Level 3 Bedford Road Multi-Storey Tel: (01483) 453993 The scheme provides manual and powered wheelchairs and scooters for people who have problems walking around the town centre. You do not have to be registered disabled to use the scheme.

Motor cycles
Motorcycles may be parked without payment in marked motorcycle bays in the Bedford Road, Commercial Road, Civic Hall, Millbrook and Old Police Station Car Parks. Castle Car Park has marked motorcycle bays with payment due on exit.

Bicycles
Free bicycle stands are provided at various locations within the town centre. see map for locations

Lorries
There are no official lorry parks in the Guildford area.

Coach facilities are provided in Bedford Road and Guildford Park Car Park (see map)

Contract & season ticket parking
Regular long stay customers are able to purchase annual Contract or Season Tickets. Contract parking provides a reserved parking space for Customers where as Season Tickets do not, but do provide daily parking at a discounted rate. Season tickets are available in Bedford Road MSCP, York Road MSCP and Farnham Road MSCP. Contract parking is provided at the locations indicated on the 'Charges Table'. Parking fines
These are imposed for infringements of the On & Off-Street Parking Orders. The standard charge is currently £60.
