A scheme to improve Milkhouse Gate Square, adjacent to the Castle Car Park has recently been completed. The aim is to enhance the day and night-time environment within the space formed by the new car park.

The works, designed by Guildford Borough Council accentuate the existing London Plane trees with two ground level planters and uplighters. They replace existing tree grilles which the trees had started to outgrow.

The works within the Town Centre Conservation Area, bring up to date an earlier environmental improvement scheme.
