Greening the Borough Grants 2004
Schools, uniformed and community groups across Guildford are being invited to apply for environmental grants. Guildford Borough Council is offering grants of up to £500 for environmental projects, which will develop people’s awareness and understanding of the environment and help the Council to protect and enhance Guildford.

Applications are invited under two categories:
Natural Environment - outdoor and garden projects
Built Environment - for example waste reduction, recycling and energy efficiency.
All projects with a sustainable theme will be considered. The closing date for applications is 16 January 2004.

Built Environment
Bushy Hill Junior School
£500 to expand their recycling scheme and develop an environmental area.
Guildford High School
£250 to expand their recycling scheme in the senior school and set up a recycling scheme in the junior school.
Tillingbourne Junior School
£500 to develop their wildlife area to include a wormery, hedgehog house, bat and lacewing boxes, ladybird house and BoxWatch (CCTV nestbox).
Burpham Primary School
£185 for composters, green cones, recycling bins for cans and plastic bottles.
Natural Environment
Holly Lodge Primary School
£400 for their Maths Garden

Pirbright Primary School
£400 to relocated Key Stage 2 allotment to a more favourable area and turn the old allotment area into a quiet area, with a wildlife habitat mural, mosaics and plants.
Ripley Infants School
£400 for trees from around the world.
George Abbot School
£500 for the development of a wildlife garden and pond.
