This group regularly meets to discuss and address strategic issues which affect the development of tourism in Guildford. It undertakes carefully planned and coordinated promotional activities on behalf of Guildford's tourism industry and liaises with tourism businesses and Guildford Borough Council's Tourism Department on issues such as the production of various different publications such as "Guildford Great Escapes" and "Guildford Conferences and Corporate Hospitality Guide". The group represents and ensures that Guildford continues to be represented at a wide range of travel trade, conference and public exhibitions both in the UK and overseas.

The two main purposes of this group are: to prepare and implement jointly funded Marketing activities, ensuring that Guildford's tourism industry is working in partnership towards common agreed goals and secondly to raise standards of quality in service provision and customer care.

The Group constantly works towards ensuring that Guildford is promoted to selected markets and consequently undertakes a wide variety of activities to ensure that these markets are thoroughly targeted.

The Guildford Town Center Retail Web Site promotes all aspects of Guildford's retail and business community and provides links to theatre, leisure and tourism web sites.
