As its name suggests, this Group is involved with any development and property issues occurring in the Borough that affect the town and its businesses. The Group in liaison with the Guildford Chamber of Commerce represents the views of the Business Community at council meetings and reports back to those concerned afterwards.

Working with Surrey County Council and other relevant bodies to encourage economic investment in the Borough by developers, where their presence will be of benefit to the existing and future business community is a priority. Keeping that community aware of all property and construction and developmental issues that have implications for them is also paramount. It is up to this Group to comment on any development briefs produced by Guildford Borough Council and to liaise with Council Members in relation to the treatment of planning applications.
